I don't mean that it was without tantrums, or throwing or time outs, but that was the exception rather than the rule.
Saturday night we went to a neighborhood that is all decked out with Christmas lights and Bub ran up and down the streets, loving every single minute of it. I mean, just look.
Also, it wasn't nearly cold enough to necessitate the above outfit, but there was no way I was leaving the cute hat at home.
Sunday started out a bit rough, until I suggested that we paint. Having never actually painted before, Bub thought this was a fantastic idea. And it occupied a solid hour and a half. Happily occupied.
Even though he abandoned the one color at a time method we had going for a while and moved to painting with the dirty brush rinsing water, he was thoroughly enjoying the process. So much so, that I've decided try to figure out what other crafts he might enjoy. Typically he rebels against crafty things, but we may be on to something here.
Then, late last night, there was this:
Yesterday morning, my very best mom friend had a little girl and I snuck out of the house to go visit her. After holding her until my arm was sore, I said a little silent prayer that I won't be quite the emotional mess I was last time around, and I can enjoy the teeny tiny pinkness of those days.
Oh, he is so cute with his beautiful curls. I am sharing your silent prayer that you will be able to fully enjoy the newborn this time around.
