Either way you look at it, long enough to form some serious opinions about baby products.
Here are some things I'm loving and would highly recommend as we're coming to the end of the fourth trimester.
Aden and Anais Muslin Swaddles

My love for these blankets knows no end. They're HUGE and great for swaddling. (Those four packs of flannel receiving blankets that everyone buys? Awful. Tiny and useless.) They're lightweight, so your needs-to-be-swaddled baby isn't sweltering in her little straightjacket. I have summer babies and need to have something to throw over them while in the freezing grocery store or overly air conditioned car. Oh, and they just get softer every time you wash them. Perfect! And they're ridiculously cute.
I should just go on to say that I adore most things Aden and Anais. I have the Issie security blanket too (love that it comes in a two-pack!) and I really want the sleeping bags for the day when we're no longer swaddling. If that day ever comes.
Sleep Sheep

This was given to me as a gift when I had Bub, and I was so thrilled to bring it back out of everything we stored from his baby days. It has four sounds (rain, heartbeat, ocean and whale.) While I find the whale sound a little disturbing and always regret if I accidentally hit that button the middle of the night, the ocean sound may as well be laced with Benadryl, so quick are it's sleep inducing properties. Both of my kids are completely soothed by the sheep. So much so, that I want the cute little travel version just in case we ever go anywhere.
Trumpette Socks

Yes, mostly just because they're cute. But, they also stay on pretty darn well for a baby sock, so they're not totally frivolous.
SnugRider

By far the most functional thing on this list, the snug rider is the one thing that I wish I had for my first baby. It's simply a frame that the infant seat snaps on to. Yes, many strollers are capable of accomodating an infant seat, and I had a travel system with Bub meant specifically for that reason. However, this is so much better. It weighs next to nothing, it opens and closes like a dream, has a rather large storage basket and a parent organizer with cup holder. For the number of times I lug the heavy infant seat in and out of the car, having something easy to snap it in to, rather than a full size stroller is necessary.
Such great tips! Must remember to add some Aden and Anais to our registry.
ReplyDeleteI love the Aden and Anais blankets too! I have ginormous babies so those tiny receiving blankets never work!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Aden and Anais Swaddles. We use the Miracle Blanket at night (hello, 10 hours straight at 10 weeks for BOTH babies...TIS a miracle), but I love the A&A blankets to hang over the stroller during the days. Love how lightweight they are!
ReplyDeleteI am 39 wks pregnat today with my first kiddo. I am glad to see that I have the Aden & Anais swaddle blankets and Snug Rider already on hand. It's good to know that these things will be useful coming from the experience of another mom!
