Three Months

Months One and Two

There may come a day where I note the baby's age and don't immediately think, Wow, really? Maybe. Probably not any time soon.

At three months Bubette has great neck control and loves to look at the world around her. She tolerates tummy time and seems to be bordering on actually enjoying it.

She is having quite the little love affair with her hands. So much so that I want to shriek at anyone who looks like they might touch her, Not the hands. Please, not! the! hands! Instead, I might just invest in one of these.

Sleep is becoming slightly more predictable and we've even had a couple "through the night" glimpses. Bedtime is 7:30 with two predictable naps during the day, and catnaps in the carseat and stroller sprinkled in. The bummer of being the second child is that you're constantly being woken up to go somewhere. With the first, his schedule was holy. Now, well, his schedule still rules our life and the baby girl just has to go along with us. She takes it like a champ.

She's started laughing, but really makes us work for it. I think that's so we appreciate just how awesome the newborn giggle really is.

See you next month, yo.

  2. It amazes me how young they are when they start laughing. I was holding my friend's 2-month-old son the other day and he kept SMILING at me and it was like, REALLY? This is a deliberate smile already?!

Of course he's small for his age so it was also hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that he was actually two months old as opposed to just having been born.
