1. If you own a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, where does it live? Are you an on the counter, all the time kind of person?
2. If you have a child, do you let your child win when playing board games? If you don't have a child, feel free to weigh in on this practice.
3. In the morning, assuming you eat breakfast at home, do you brush your teeth before or after eating?
I'll be back with my answers tomorrow.
1. I keep my Kitchenaid mixer on the counter.
ReplyDelete2. I don't let the child win per se, but I often don't play all-out, either. That is, I might decline to use a killer strategy, and instead play "regular." But I don't opposite-cheat, like by making mistakes on purpose or whatever.
3. I brush my teeth as soon as I get up.
1. On top of the fridge. We don't have enough counter space for it to live somewhere more convenient.
ReplyDelete2. Mine aren't old enough for board games yet, but I think a 60/40 win ratio (in the kid's favor) sounds good. Gotta teach them to lose graciously somehow.
3. Before. It's the first thing I do when I get up.
1. In its box. I think if it ever saw the light of day, it would be frightened.
ReplyDelete2. Adriana can barely handle Candyland, but I'm guessing that when she can, IT'S ON.
3. Before. Sometimes after too, if I can still taste it and its grossing me out (I'm looking at you, coffee).
1. I only WISH I had one. . . sigh. Of course, then I WOULD have to make that decision.
ReplyDelete2. I don't have kids, but I do have nieces. We found that the winning all the time strategy was BAD. The oldest niece could NOT HANDLE IT if she lost, even if it was to her little sister. She really became a poor loser and an even more poor winner (she would boast, dance around, laugh at the losers, etc.) So, we just continued the practice of just playing to play no matter who wins or loses. I think it taught us all a lesson that children need to learn how to respond appropriately to both wins and losses.
3. Usually before. Of course, just as soon as I leave the house I want to brush them again.
1. On the counter, next to the freezer--we have a separate freezer/refrigerator.
ReplyDelete2. We don't play games yet, but when we do, it will be by the rules, I'm guessing.
3. After I eat. There's nothing worse than toothpaste tinged milk.
1. Counter. It's orange and fits perfectly with other accents in my kitchen!
ReplyDelete2. He's 21 now, but no, I didn't let him win when he was smaller. Even when he was little, he wouldn't have wanted a fabricated victory. He's competitive and likes to do his best, win or lose.
3. I brush my teeth before leaving for work, and then usually eat a pop tart or toaster strudel there.
Great questions!
1. On the counter all the time.
ReplyDelete2. I HATE PLAYING BOARD GAMES WITH MY KIDS. So I don't. Perhaps this will change when they are not 3 and 4 and totally not following the rules.
3. I brush after breakfast, mainly because I don't have time until then!
1. I don't have a stand mixer, but if someone wanted to donate one, I'd keep it under our island where we have open shelves.
ReplyDelete2. We don't do board games because he doesn't play by the rules and gets mad if he loses and I get irritated with the tantrums. Obviously I think kids need to learn that sometimes in life you lose.
3. It depends. On work days I brush them after I get out of the shower because it will be awhile before I eat. Weekends, I wait until I eat. Nothing tastes good after brushing your teeth.
1. In the appliance garage (big cabinet where we keep all the little appliances, like toaster and crock pot)
ReplyDelete2. We don't really play board games. I would let him win sometimes.
3. I used to brush my teeth right when I woke up, before I had kids. Now I do it later, but still before breakfast.
1. Sadly I don't own a mixer if I did I think I would aspire to put it in a cupboard but that it would end up on the counter a lot.
ReplyDelete2. At work I do not let the kids win, I just play easy/regular...
3. brush after coffee usually. Coffee first thing always!
1. Well currently they both sit on the counter ... at least until I decide which one to keep and which to return.
ReplyDelete2. N/A
3. Since I don't eat breakfast I'll just explain I brush teeth before leaving for work.
Uh, am I the only person who doesn't brush her teeth in the morning? I'm a once-a-day (before bed) brusher.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I don't have a Kitchen Aid mixer (sad) and at 2, my daughter doesn't understand board games yet.
1. Don't have one
ReplyDelete2. My kid is 5 and previously I have sometimes not played to the best of my ability, I don't exactly let her win. She's at an age now where winning is VERY important to her and she freaks if she loses and she's a horrible loser. I now try not to hold back and let her lose because she has to learn that losing isn't some horrible thing. This has not been fun.
3. I brush after breakfast.
1. My KitchenAid is always on the counter.
ReplyDelete2. I don't let my daughter win. If she does, good for her.
3. Before. Right after I wake up.
1. Oh that bad boy stays on the counter. I didn't get a coloured one though, in hopes that it would match for a long time. Mine's black, to match with virtually anything. I was never crazy enough to think I would be dragging it out every time.
ReplyDelete2. I have no kids, but I've got nieces and a nephew. I play more gentle with them, but I don't let them win. My cousin's 10 year old BRAT however, I play HARD against her. No one else does and she still tantrums when she loses at TEN YEARS OLD. Oh how I despise that child. This is what happens when a kid never loses. Sigh.
3. After eating. Mint toothpaste and orange juice, my staple breakfast drink, do NOT mix, my friends.
I don't have room on my counter so my kitchen aid (my moms very old one) rarely gets used.
ReplyDeletePeanut assumes he's winning all the games we play :)
Usually before because I'm not very good at eating breakfast but it really would depend on if I'm having juice or not.
I have a kitchenaid and it's got it's proper place on the counter! I use it way too much to put it away! lol
ReplyDeleteMy son loves board games and we are teaching him to play the right way and to be a good sport if he loses. His grandfather on the other hand does not see it this way! lol
I brush my teeth as soon as I get up.
my kitchenaid is on the counter. it's too heavy to move around a lot. if it lived in the cellar, like the bread machine, i would never use it. the bread machine is light enough to cart up the stairs once a week.
ReplyDelete(mine's white, btw.)
