Last week’s questions were fun. Let’s do it again, shall we?
What are your weekends like? Do you prefer to make no plans, or are you on the go from start to finish? For us, it really depends. My natural tendency is to be a homebody, so I love looking at the calendar and seeing big blank spaces on Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, having no plans doesn’t necessarily means we’ll stay home all weekend. My husband likes to go and do, so at least a full calendar is a predictable calendar. This weekend we’ll be busy, with little chance for doing nothing, but as today is my husband’s last day of work for eleven weeks, I have no room to complain.
Do you like the Olympics? I am positively vibrating with excitement about the Olympics. I looooove the Olympics, especially the summer Olympics. Four years ago we were on vacation with little television coverage during the Olympics. I mean, we knew every last detail about Michael Phelps and the men’s basketball team and that was pretty much it. I wouldn’t have traded our cruise for a week of couch-sitting/gymnastics-watching, but I did feel the tiniest bit of sadness about missing it all. My parents are going to London this year, and I’ll have to spend the next couple of months reigning in my jealousy just to be happy for them. (Not really. They’re wonderful people and totally deserve it. I’m as happy for them as Rachel and Phoebe were for Monica and Chandler.)
Finally, in a completely different direction, do you make different dinners for your kids? I do not, but I’m just about ready to give up this particular fight.
Our weekends are usually busy. My husband can't seem to STAND to sit still or freakin' relax for a second. (no, I'm not bitter. haha)
ReplyDeleteSome are busier than others of course.
Olympics? I don't really care for them. I don't like sports in general so I'm not one to sit and watch the Olympics. I might watch pieces here and there, but I didn't even know that was this year!
I do not make different dinners for my kids, typically. As a compromise, each dinner includes either a salad or raw veggies with dip and/or some fruit because I know everyone likes those things.
I like "sit around and do nothing" kind of weekends, but anymore I find myself annoyed when I try to do that, because the kids won't let us. I usually run errands Saturday afternoon while my husband is home.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of some olympic sports, but I don't usually watch too much.
I do not make a different dinner for my kids. We set food on the table and they eat, or not and I'm indifferent to it. We only have dessert on Sunday, so there's no fighting about how much they have to eat before they can have dessert. Often they only eat a bite or two, breakfast tends to be the big meal of the day for both of them.
I prefer to have no plans which means we get to do what we want to do on the weekend, instead of one obligation after another (that sounds terrible, but we have a large family and it gets TIRING after a while).
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I get really into is gymnastics, but I think we will watch this year to get Adriana excited about it.
I only make different dinners for the kids if we want to order something unhealthy after they go to bed. My girls aren't picky, or I might answer this question differently.
