Assorted

*I would really like to tell you about my time at Bloggy Boot Camp last week (I promise not to talk about my brand) but I’m still so tired. Sure, I had a weekend “off,” but there was precious little relaxing. (Although I did score a free business class upgrade on the way there! Thanks Air Tran!)

*I had an epiphany this morning. We’re a brush your teeth after breakfast kind of family, but I find the practice of herding my kids back upstairs to brush their teeth to be so tedious. Sometimes I just bring their toothbrushes downstairs, but then I’m searching for them at bedtime and I’m annoyed that I have to go back downstairs to get them. (I should just delete the entire paragraph and write LAZY.) Anyway, today at Target I bought an extra toothbrush for everyone to keep in the downstairs bathroom. I’m very excited about our new plan.

*I tweeted this yesterday, but I think it’s worth sharing. (Because naturally I think that all of my ideas are good ones.) Costco has Halloween costumes for less than $20. I bought two Disney princess costumes for Bubette for Christmas. Dress up clothes! She’s going to love it. (“Dats MAH Snow White!)

*I implemented a no-TV before school plan and it’s perhaps my stupidest parenting move to date. The kids are really excited about this plan, too. Bub spends  a lot of time asking what he can do that’s not BORING. He’s taken to asking if we can leave for school early, which meant that we walked to school yesterday and it was so nice that if it ever drops below 90 around here, we’ll consider doing it again.

*We went to Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland (non-sponsored! Paid for by yours truly.) for the first time this year. I want to tell you about about THAT too, but I can’t stop eating the candy. I woke up this morning with what can only be described as a candy hangover. So I had Skittles for breakfast.

  1. Second set of toothbrushes is exactly the kind of idea I don't think of until someone mentions it, and then I'm all "GENIUS OMG GENIUS."

  2. Love the multiple toothbrush thing. I'm so lazy I have one for Anna in the bathtub and one on the bathroom sink. These are mere feet away from one another.

    1. I have one for myself in the shower and on my sink, and they're mere steps away. I don't know why I didn't do this for the kids sooner.

  3. I did costumes for Christmas one year and it was very popular. I got Owen Darth Vader, a ninja, and pirate and they were on clearance for super cheap. Now the girls are wearing them. Best money ever spent.
