One of the many, many subscription boxes available, I am super pleased with my Ipsy box. I loved the January box so much that I ordered the full size of the lotion immediately. Laura Diniwilk did a great write up of the January box. February’s box was a little less stunning, but still very much worth $10. The bonus for me is that my subscription was a gift, so I don’t have to waste much mental space wondering if these items were worth $10, or at least worth it to me. It’s nice to get fun mail. (And so far, the items are definitely worth $10.) (To me.)
Scramble, Matching, Gems with Friends
Sure, sure, we all played Words with Friends to death, but now there’s a new crop of the with friends games, and I’m particularly addicted to Matching and Gems. If you’re not playing, you should be! I need more games! Do not try to get me to play Candy Crush. Don’t. I played a similar game (Bubble Mania) where you had to wait to get more turns, or pay for the tools that would allow you to breeze through a level. On principle I never paid, but I did ramp up my stress level to a unacceptable point when you realize that we’re talking about a game that I play on my phone. I know where Candy Crush will lead me, and I don’t like it. I’m themamabub if you want to play these slightly less addicting games.
A while ago I had to give up caffeine, and I was particularly sad about the loss of soda in my life. It turns out that I can handle a little caffeine, occasionally, but soda is a rare treat lately. Thank goodness for La Croix. I love the grapefruit and peach-pear flavors, and I really love not drinking my calories. (I need to save room for the ten boxes of girl scout cookies in my freezer.) What is UP with the packaging, though? It looks like a bathing suit my brother had in 1991.
On the caffeine front, tea doesn’t seem to bother me. HOORAY. I’ve fallen head over heels for Tejava. I used to think unsweetened iced tea was of the devil, but now I love it so much. Plus, the glass bottles makes this feel super fancy. Trader Joe’s has a similar green tea version that’s good too.
*Seche Vite and Orly Bonder
I’ve started painting my nails weekly. My nail polish drawer, once home only to OPI’s Nice Color, Eh and a cheap top coat, is now full of fun Essie colors (Turquoise and Caicos, I love you the most.) Thanks to Rebecca’s recommendation, I have the best base and top coats in all the land, and my manicures last for more than a day.
*The way Bubette says penguin. Penglin. Kills me every time.
*This shot of Bub taking a surprise nap. I went in to announce the end of quiet time and found this. I swear he’s under there.
Not even a little bit sponsored.
YES!!!! You are feeling the magic of the nail products. They should be paying me. I evangelize that crap from the ROOFTOPS.
ReplyDeletePenglin.... so cute!
ReplyDeleteIf you like Essie T&C, you should try Mint Candy Apple. I love that shade even more!
ReplyDeleteI'm on a Gems and Matching kick, too. I quit Matching for a while because some dick kept "Nudging" me and, well, no.
Oooh, I do love that color.
DeleteI haaate being nudged, although I do sometimes genuinely forget I have a game going on. Mostly though, don't nudge me!
Heee, I just had to Google that OPI color and it made me LOL. Can you say '90s? Anyway, I need to get on board with the base and top coats that everyone on the Internet was all het up about recently. I assume these are them. Either way, I'm good with Essie's Good To Go for the moment. Hmm, maybe I'll paint my nails tonight. Fun activity!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to give up the Diet soda (the WORST!), but keep finding excuses to work it back into my life. I used to detest LaCroix, but have grown to appreciate it. Maybe I should start there. I mean, we do have a 1/2 case of the Lime flavor in our pantry.
ReplyDeleteSeche Vite is THE BEST. Brings me back to the days when I had time to care about my nails. =)
Run AWAY from Candy Crush. Do not fall into the Candy Crush trap. I am on level 74. LEVEL 74! It never ends, apparently. I have so much Candy Crush rage.
